Easter is nearly here! Hope you've all enjoyed the holiday so far! If any of you gave up chocolate for Lent, your suffering is nearly over! 😉

I want to share this recipe for Chocolate Orange Bites with you guys today. Easy and quick to make and a nice little sweet treat post Easter lunch, making for a pretty table centrepiece when displayed with blossoms and orange segments.

We've got raw cacao in these beauts because we love it! Full of antioxidants, great for heart health, brain function and mood boosting! Also dates and almonds which are a good source of plant based calcium. Last but not least I've flavoured these with a 100% pure food grade Wild Orange essential oil.

For those of you who follow me on social media, you may have noticed how in love I am with essential oils. Not only do they smell divine, they work amazingly both on the physical and emotional body. As far as purity, ethical values, company transparency and being food grade, I would totally recommend doTERRA essential oils. If it's something that sparks your interest and would like to learn more, drop me a line and lets chat.

As a word of warning, please do not use any essential oil in your food, as most essential oils on the market are not pure enough to be safe for internal consumption. As an alternative you can add some orange rind to your chocolatey bites, or omit all together.

Chocolate Orange Bites

  • 2 cups almonds
  • 20 dates
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 8 drops doTERRA Wild Orange essential oil

Add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend well until the mixture comes together. Tip out onto a large sheet of parchment paper, fold the paper over the mixture and roll out to approx 1cm thickness using a rolling pin. Leave as is in the parchment paper, transfer onto a tray and chill in the fridge for one hour minimum. When ready to serve, cut up into squares and display with eatable flowers and clementine segments.
