I started this blog as a way of sharing my whole food recipes with anyone interested in leading a healthier lifestyle, learning about new foods and the health benefits they posses. At times I might get a bit technical, but I am very passionate about the science behind the food which enters our bodies and the roles it plays within it.
It’s also a journal of my own journey on the road to health (click through to read more about my story). Unlike a private journal, this blog enables me and hopefully encourages others to keep keeping on, to follow the path to health, and to feel that we are part of a community, that we don’t have to do this on our own.
I really truly believe that by engaging into a different lifestyle, not following the crowds and standing up for what I believe in – which is that healing comes from within with the help of a clean diet and a positive outlook on life, I have opened myself up to a huge amount of learning which is incredibly satisfying and fulfilling, and as a consequence am finding the real me, the happy me. I hope to inspire others to do the same.
Eating whole foods is not difficult, unsatisfying or boring, far from it, through my new way of eating I am constantly discovering new delicious flavours and tantalising textures. This way of eating is not about denying yourself, on the contrary, you can forget about all the guilt you might have once associated with food, and enjoy all the amazing fruits, veggies, nuts, pulses and grains which will nourish and satisfy.
I graduated from Brighton University with a BA (Hons) in Photography in 2003 and have been working as a photographer ever since (you can see my photography work here) and am currently in my final year of a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine. It’s very exciting to be learning, meeting like minded people and what’s really exciting is that my love of photography and food can come together in this project. I hope you’ll find the recipes as exciting and delicious as I do!
I’d like to take a moment and thank all the other heathy food bloggers out there for being a constant inspiration!! I will name just a few that I love: Deliciously Ella, Green Kitchen Stories, 26 Grains, My Sweet Lemon Thyme, Cannell et Vanille, Pure Ella and many more. You’re all amazing!!
