Hello party people! How are you all doing?

It never ceases to amaze me how chaotic December can be... Christmas parties galore, kids bringing home colds, chaotic shopping sprees... We can get really run down in December, and I have to admit, I was nursing a cold earlier this week; attacked it from all angles, herbs and spices, essential oil, long hot baths and inhalations. And, as I've been preparing this blog post and trying out some non-alcoholic cocktails, I've really appreciated how amazing just a few ingredients in our kitchens are for soothing a cold. With things like ginger, rose hips and honey, not only are these cocktails delicious but they have some incredible healing properties too!

Let's face it, every day in December can potentially be an alcohol fuelled night... So for anyone who doesn't drink or who might just want a night off the booze, these are just the ticket!

Rather than dehydrating you and giving you a headache the next day, these non-alcoholic cocktails will benefit your gut health, boost the immune system, have anti-inflammatory properties and hydrate your body!

So first up we have the mighty

Ginger Lime Fizz cocktail

Makes 2

thumb sized piece of ginger

juice of 1 lime

1 cup of water

1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

sparkling water

Slice the ginger and add to a small pan with 1 cup of water. Bring to the boil and cook until the liquid is reduced by half. Allow to cool, strain the ginger, then stir in the honey into the ginger infused liquid. Add lime juice to 2 cups, pour in the ginger mixture, add some mint leaves and ice and top up with sparkling water.

Second on the list,

Rosehip Kombucha

a dash of rose hip syrup

1 glass of kombucha (I used Equinox Kombucha, but if you have some homemade Kombucha, that's great!)

Add the rose hip syrup to a champagne flute and top with Kombucha. That's it!

Last but not least we have the

Hibiscus Sangria

Hibiscus tea (infuse 5-6 hibiscus flowers in hot water)

Juice of 1/2 an orange

1 tsp honey

Slices of apple, lemon and lime for decoration

Add the orange juice to a glass, top with cooled hibiscus tea and sweeten to taste with honey. Add some ice and fruit slices and enjoy!
